The book is inspiring and optimistic about the ability to dramatically reduce work time and increase leisure time. There are a lot of good ideas presented and some good information on finding staffing for your part time businesses. My issue is with how much time you would have to devote to starting up the businesses that, once they are humming along, would allow you the leisure time that is the goal here. It appears the author had several of these "run themselves " businesses before he semi-retired. What about most of us who work full time for somebody else and want to leave it behind? Do we have to spend years of full time work trying to set up these businesses that will generate passive income? The author doesn't answer this, but I expect the answer is yes. So the advice really seems limited to those who are already well along in running their own businesses and can simply let someone else do it now. For the rest of us, it's probably a lot of work getting to that point.Product details

My fiancee and I are working on her business website and have been trying to figure out what is the next step so that we can achieve more freedom, financially and emotionally. This book does an excellent job of showing us how to get there. I'm a Marriage and Family Therapist and she is the sole owner of her website. The reason I mention this is that Never Work Again does a beautiful job of balancing the mental/therapeutic aspects of running your own business by helping people figure out their fear and how to break it and achieve what they want.
There are many blue prints for success, many diagrams and many examples of others that have either inspired Erlend Bakke, or informed his way of thinking and working, and they are all useful.
Erlend also gives a lot of free information, at the end of the book, and it is all incredibly useful and very powerful for anyone that truly wants to take the plunge and start owning their own business instead of being owned by their business.
As we speak, my fiancee have started writing our own book and are starting to look into how to outsource more of her website work and also the publishing of the book on Erlend's suggestions and information given in this book.
Suffice to say, I've read enough of the do-it-yourself books to know that this one is head and shoulders above the rest and is also useful for so many other areas of life rather than just for business.
I appreciate Erlend being willing to give away so much of the information he has worked so hard to gain for such a fair price.
Again, this is an excellent book for someone that wants to rise above being a CEO and actually be a business owner and live a life that allows them to have freedom, love and happiness.
Ps. Just don't expect it to be easy. Erlend is very honest about it taking a lot of work and effort and that failure is a learning experience. We have seen this with others that have websites in that they think it will be simple but then quit when they realize the truth of the work. This book would have helped them outsource and get the necessary people to continue their dream and master it. I hope you do the same!
Erlend Bakke is an absolutely brilliant entrepreneur who really knows how to lead you by the hand when it comes to teaching you lessons in delegation. Using himself as an example, the guy nearly lost his life or at least his health learning this lesson for himself. Erlend has written his book in a most polished fashion as well as revealed this incredibly big heart of his when it comes to treating fellow outsourced employees in a real decent way. Speaking for myself, I can truly relate as there are, at least from my experience, probably one out of ten employers out there that know how to treat their fellow employees in a decent fashion. Erlend, in teaching the way he handles his own hired help, truly deserves all the help and respect that his own top producing employees give him in return. It's no wonder that he enjoys the freedom in his life that he has due to the way that he obviously grooms his own employees to really lighten his load. Congratulations Erlend, you have truly earned your strips!
I like this book. I'm at a point where I will be making serious changes about my future and (fortunately) I have too many options. This book has helped me clarify my life values what my real interests are, what makes me happy, what is important.
The exercises forced me take a good, hard look at WHY I want to make money and WHAT I will do with the money once it is flowing in my direction. The answers were not as clear cut as I thought they would be. I liked the idea of defining the "absolute minimum" amount of money that I need to have a great life and lifestyle. It was actually less than I thought it was going to be. Therefore, I can set up the work he describes, obtain this amount...and then spend the rest of my time enjoying non-work activities.
His premise, do what you love and it won't feel like work (hence, the book's title), is good and catchy for selling books, but a little off the mark with the content. I gave it 4-stars instead of 5-stars because it was not a unique, "earth shattering" approach to working through these issues. But the material was presented in a thought provoking format. If allowed it, I would give the book 4.5 Stars. If you're going to buy it, take the time to do the exercises and review the suggested websites/YouTube links - and do the introspection Bakke challenges you to do. You'll be glad you did.
